What is Old Bill’s Fun Run?

One of the most inno­v­a­tive fundrais­ers in the nation, Old Bil­l’s Fun Run is also one of the most successful. Since its incep­tion, Old Bill’s has brought an astound­ing $280 mil­lion phil­an­thropic dol­lars to our com­mu­ni­ty. These funds are busy feed­ing the hun­gry, sup­port­ing the sick and elder­ly, teach­ing kids to read, pro­tect­ing wildlife, build­ing afford­able hous­ing, enrich­ing our lives through the arts, and touch­ing the lives of every­one in Teton Coun­ty. Old Bill’s is admin­is­tered by the Com­mu­ni­ty Foun­da­tion of Jack­son Hole.

The way it works is that all the donations Wyoming Stargazing receives through the Community Foundation of JH during the Giving Season (August 14th – Sept. 18th) are matched by the Community Foundation of JH at 50-60%! It’s the most important fundraising time of the year for us.

Belonging in STEM

We created a Belonging in STEM Scholarship and Mentorship Program to help opportunity youth get to college and to succeed.

During 2024, we offered 75 free public astronomy programs to over 2,500 people. Since we started 12 years ago, we've offered over 1,000 free public astronomy programs to the JH Community.

Save Our Night Skies

We spearheaded the effort to make Teton County the world's 1st Dark Sky Certified County. We are currently working on an initiative to create a Dark Sky Preserve that follows the boundaries of the entire Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
